The Berea Senior Center was founded January 26, 1970, when seventeen older persons gathered in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Lutheran Church to begin what has become a great adventure in service to the elderly.

It has been the basic creed of the Center that life can be enriching and exciting once retirement years are reached.  It is also our belief that a senior center should provide opportunities to stimulate the intellectual, social and spiritual growth of its members.  Based on these concepts, we offer a full program of arts, services and travel.

Services and Activities

Entertainment and Social

• Senior Luncheon 2nd Tuesday of the month from Sept -- June.

• Call the church at 440 243-1144 to make your reservation.

Fine Arts

• Senior Choral Group - meets Monday 10:30 - 12:00 pm

Health

• Monthly blood pressure checks, flu shots - each fall, health seminars and screenings, Vial-of-Life kits

Government Forms Available

• Social Security & Medicare Handbooks, Golden Buckeye applications,  HEAP discount forms

Legal - Financial 

•  Free legal counseling available by appointment

Outreach

• Collect Campbell Soup Labels for Navajo Indians - Arizona, Collect food and paper products for Berea Welfare.

Physical Fitness

•  Bowling League - meets Friday October 1 through April at Brookgate Lanes

Travel

• Enjoy one-day bus tours around Ohio.

Transportation 

• Senior Wheels 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  The bus will take you shopping, banking, to medical appointments, to Southwest General Hospital, K-Mart.
