- People who are elderly or handicapped in any
way and unable to shop or prepare food for themselves.
- People who are temporarily indisposed due to
illness, recent hospitalization or accident.
- People who are referred by a physician, social
worker, or family member concerned about nutritious meals for their
loved ones.
There are no age barriers for those who need a
helping hand, a good meal and a friendly smile.
Meals-on-Wheels is not a charity - it is a
purchased service intended to provide nutritious, reasonably priced meals.
A not-for-profit program, Meals-on -Wheels receives no federal, state or
local funding.
THE SERVICE
Meals-on-Wheels is available to residents of:
- Berea
- Middleburg Hts.
- Brook Park
- Olmsted Falls
- Olmsted Township
One hot dinner and one cold supper is delivered to
the home, Monday through Friday.
Meals are low sugar and no added salt.
Diabetic meals are available.
COST
Full Program: (hot/cold)
$6.25 per day
Hot Meal Only:
$4.50 per day
Payment is due the 12th of each month - no
charge cards accepted. Prompt payment for services received
enables the program to continue.
The client must agree to accept service a
minimum of one full week (5 week days). Meals are delivered midday
between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm. 24 hour notice is required to begin or
to cancel the service.
